Mashevo Secondary School is among the best preserved locations in the entire Chernobyl Exclusion Zone, mostly thanks to the village’s remote location, over an hour drive from Chernobyl town and Pripyat. It’s certainly one of my favourite places to visit with books, teaching aids in physics and chemistry classrooms and piles of projector transparencies portraying significant characters and historical events from the Russian history.
Plus some compulsory gas masks scattered all over the building, of course.
The nearby village has some well-preserved houses and a community centre with a small library worth seeing.
