Description
Chernobyl Nuclear Power Plant’s Reactor Number 5 was halfway complete, with its sibling already rising from the foundations. The events of 26 April 1986 stopped all further work.
A massive gantry crane stands near the incomplete labyrinth of steel and concrete corridors to this day. Designed to lift the RBMK-1000 reactor pressure vessel, drum separator tanks, and other key components of the nuclear power plant, it has become a rusting monument to the disaster.
Each print is produced using a 10-colour archival pigment printing process on heavyweight 300gsm pearlescent photographic paper. For works larger than 13″x19″ please contact me directly.
